The Pillowman

Valentina Ratevosyan Humanities PO5 10/21/2011 Play Paper naming: The Pillowman The Pillowman was written by Irish playwright Martin McDonagh and produced by playwrights Play Service of New York. The play was seen on October 15th at John Anthony Theatre in Plano. The animal trainer of the play was Brad Baker who did a marvelous commerce. He had put a lot of time and effort to run into that the actors performed convincingly as well as conveyed emotion as accurately as possible. This could be seen done pop out the whole play. particularly in the beginning when the scouts are trying to depict Katurian to accommodate to his crime. And once again at the end when Katurian admits to his wrongdoing. The whole play was order in well manner and the actors did perform as an ensemble. You could give out that they had dedicated a lot of time and effort to this play. none of the actors missed a line or even mispronounced a word but most importantly none failed to go the mselves heard. The space was somewhat limited. However they worked well in the given space making the most of their situation. The whole play was in the right rhythm and at proper pace. The director did a wonderful job keeping the earshot well socialise and on the edge of their seats.

As for the actors one of my favorites was of course Michal deal by Joey Horton; who played his role incredibly. He used a shaky, sort of childish voice to convey his grammatical case which was skillful convincing through and throughout the whole play. His gestures and movements were well practiced as he played his part. He was able t o get the audience to see his innocence and ! naivety as he went through his lines. He knew exactly how to move with each step of the play. on the whole in all in all he did a great job making the audience understand his stiffness and childlike ways. other one of my favorites was Tupolski played by Kolby shut in; who was the lead detective and the good cop in the interrogation.
